Carolina holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). She completed a doctoral internship for a period of eight months at the Center for Research and Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS /Occidente), Mexico, with CAPES/Prosup scholarship in 2013. Her Thesis was nominated for the Capes Thesis Award 2017. Also, she is a journalist and holds a Master’s degree in Social Communication from PUCRS. Since October 2017, she is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Social Studies (CES)/ University of Coimbra, where she researches the legal, mediatic, imagistic and hate speeches regarding the Brazilian prison system.
