Beatriz Soria, through her research, explores the limits and scope of the human development approach in seclusion, as a context of deprivation of liberties. She is currently a volunteer in a maximum security prison for women where she conducts cultural workshops for personal development through theater.

Trained as an economist, she is a specialist in development projects, gender focus, sustainability and interculturality; and in the use of participatory methodologies.
