Dr. Antillano is a social psychologist specialized in criminology. He is a professor and criminologist in the Law School of the Central University of Venezuela and in the Postgraduate Course in Criminal Sciences of the Andrés Bello Catholic University. He is also a researcher at the Institute of Criminal Sciences of the Central University of Venezuela. In addition, he has advocated for human rights and against criminal abuse.
He has published books and articles on prisons, police, drugs, security policies and violence. His research focuses on the current transformations in the field of crime and social control, doing field work on police, violence and prisons. He currently works in a Venezuelan prison controlled by the prisoners themselves.
