Ana Vigna

Ana holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Sociology from the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil). She has specialized in criminological issues, particularly in links between gender and crime, criminal desistance and penitentiary systems. She is a professor and researcher at the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic and founder of the Nucleus of Analysis on Violence and Crime (NACVI). She has published several articles and participated in numerous academic seminars.
