Dr Bergman is the director of the Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos sobre Inseguridad y Violencia (CELIV) at the Universidad Tres de Febrero, Argentina. He previously directed the PESED at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económica (CIDE), Mexico, and acted as coordinator and collaborator in different UNDP programs. He is currently advisor to the Ministry of Justice in Argentina in prisoner reentry topics, and coordinated more than 15 surveys of prisoners in Latin America. Soon, he will be coordinating the implementation of four additional surveys in Caribbean countries. His research has been focused on the areas of criminal law, rule of law, crime and citizen security in Latin America.
